Consider this analogy: Assume you know nothing about plumbing and your hot water heater needs replacing. Let’s also assume that hiring a plumber would be far too expensive. So what do you do? You could start by gaining some knowledge from a self-help guide. Step-by-step, you could guide yourself towards successfully accomplishing the repair. For some people nothing else would be needed. The information obtained from the guide would be sufficient. Others, however, would still feel too scared to start the project.

Now, how great would it be if you could have a plumber standing over your shoulder helping you every step of the way?

Your confidence would increase. You would do the job, and in the end you would say, “Wow, that wasn’t so hard after all!”

As I mentioned above, Lawyers and CPA’s across the country are making huge amounts of money from people with tax problems. Big money sometimes attracts unscrupulous business practices. I am fed up with the big national tax firms that charge enormous fees and then do very little to help people. If you’ve ever dealt with one of these firms, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It disgusts me that commissioned sales people working out of temporary offices will promise anything to a person just to get a retainer! And to make it worse, they prey on people who are down on their luck.

I am a firm believer in Karma and the whole “what comes around goes around” principle. I would not like to be the people that are operating their businesses this way.

Don’t get suckered into hiring high priced law Firms. Chances are they will take your money and provide very little or nothing. You can do your homework on these large tax resolution firms by doing a google search on all of the complaints and lawsuits.
